I scour the internet regularly to discover as many brown girls who love vintage and thrifting. As an owner of a vintage boutique I love to see women who look like me. I love to see all the different POV's of vintage because we all love something different and put things together in a very different way.
I discovered Diana on Instagram! She has a lovely online shop of her own and blogs regularly about her outfits and treasures she has found. Check her out!
Where were you born and raised? I was born in Durango Mexico, and raised in Chicago Illinois.
What is your background? I'm currently trying to get my B.A. in Elementary Education.
What do you love about vintage? I love that a lot of the pieces are modest. Modesty is very important for me and wearing vintage has enable me to express it. With a lot of my vintage items, I don't have to worry about covering up. I also love the quality and unique details that many vintage pieces have to offer.
How did you start selling vintage? It all started when I noticed my closet over flowing with vintage dresses. It wasn't easy, but I knew it was time to get rid of some pieces. I felt it would be unfair for them to just be thrown into a plastic bag and sent to the donation center. I wanted to make sure my beloved dresses were going to a safe home. I know I probably sound crazy.
Why the name Retroglamgirl? At first the name was Vintage Lola, but I began to notice that 'vintage' has been used for so many other store and blog names. I wanted something new and fresh and that's how I came up with Retro Glam.
What inspires your outfits? My outfits are inspired by my mood. Most of the time I feel super girly and wear vintage dresses day after day. There are days I feel extra quirky and play with color, layers, and prints.
